حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ أَخِي مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " إِثْمُ الْمُسْتَبَّيْنِ مَا قَالَا عَلَى الْبَادِئِ حَتَّى يَعْتَدِيَ (١) الْمَظْلُومُ، أَوْ مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ (٢) الْمَظْلُومُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Iyad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When two people abuse each other, the sin is upon the one who started it, unless the oppressed also exceeds the limit.
