Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُرَيَّ بْنَ قَطَرِيٍّ الطَّائِيَّ، وَقَالَ: " إِنَّ أَبَاكَ أَرَادَ أَمْرًا فَأَدْرَكَهُ "، قَالَ سِمَاكٌ (١) : يَعْنِي الذِّكْرَ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Husayn narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, and he mentioned it with his chain, except that he said: I heard Murayy ibn Qatariyy al-Ta'i, and he said: "Indeed, your father intended a matter, and he attained it." Simak said: He means the remembrance.
