حَدِيثُ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الطَّائِيِّ (١)، ١٨٢٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ، فَرَأَى غَيرَهَا (٢) خَيْرًا مِنْهَا، فَلْيَأْتِ بِالَّذِي (٣) هُوَ خَيْرٌ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Adi bin Hatim Tai (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever swears an oath about something and then sees something else as better, he should do that which is better (and offer expiation for his oath).
