English translation
It is narrated from Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was sitting in Masjid Nabawi, leaning against the Qiblah. We were a total of seven people, four of whom were our freed slaves and three were of pure Arab descent. Meanwhile, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) came for the Zuhr prayer. Upon reaching us, the Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Why are you sitting here?" We replied, "O Messenger of Allah! We are waiting for the prayer." The Prophet (ﷺ) paused for a while, then raised his head and said, "Do you know what your Lord says?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Your Lord says: Whoever performs the prayer at its appointed time, observes it regularly, and does not neglect its due right by considering it insignificant, I promise to admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not pray on time, does not observe it regularly, and neglects its due right by considering it insignificant, then I have no promise for him—if I wish, I will punish him, and if I wish, I will forgive him."
