حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ فِتْنَةً فَقَرَّبَهَا، فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُتَقَنِّعٌ فَقَالَ: " هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْهُدَى " قَالَ: فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ حَتَّى أَخَذْتُ بِضَبْعَيْهِ، فَحَوَّلْتُ وَجْهَهُ إِلَيْهِ، وَكَشَفْتُ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ، فَقُلْتُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ " فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) once mentioned a tribulation. During this, a veiled man passed by. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saw him and said, "On that day, he and his companions will be upon the truth." I followed him, caught hold of his camel, turned its face towards the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and asked, "This man?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes!" When I looked, it was Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him).
