حَدِيثُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُهَنِيِّ (١)، ١٨٠٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ (٢) ، - وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ: عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ - عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي رَاكِبٌ غَدًا إِلَى يَهُودَ، فَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ وَإِذَا سَلَّمُوا عَلَيْكُمْ، فَقُولُوا: وَعَلَيْكُمْ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Tomorrow I will ride and go to the Jews, therefore do not initiate greeting them with Salam, and when they greet you with Salam, then you should only reply with 'Wa Alaikum'."
