Translation

English translation

Hiyy ibn Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I saw Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) performing voluntary prayer before sunrise. Upon seeing this, a man said, "You are a companion of the Prophet (ﷺ), yet you pray before sunrise?" He replied, "I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'The sun rises between the two horns of Satan. If you are engaged in worship during this time, it is better than if the sun rises and you are heedless.'"
