Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَأْخُذَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مَتَاعَ، ، صَاحِبِهِ لَعِبًا جَادًّا، وَإِذَا أَخَذَ أَحَدُكُمْ (١) عَصَا أَخِيهِ فَلْيَرْدُدْهَا عَلَيْهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: None of you should pick up his companion’s belongings, neither in seriousness nor in jest, and if any of you finds his companion’s staff, he should return it to him.
