حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى الطَّائِفِيَّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، يَقُولُ: اسْتَعْمَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الطَّائِفِ، وَكَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَهُ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " خَفِّفْ عَلَى (٢) النَّاسِ الصَّلَاةَ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Usman bin Abi Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) appointed me over Taif, and his last advice to me was that when you lead the people in prayer, make it light.
