Shu'aib bin Ruzaiq, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I was sitting with a person whose name was Hakam bin Hazn Kalfi, and he had the honor of sitting in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He narrated a hadith that I, along with seven or nine men, among whom I was the seventh or ninth, presented ourselves before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted us permission to enter. We entered and said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) We have come to you so that you may supplicate for good for us." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicated for good for us and ordered regarding us, so we were taken to a place and made to stay there, and some dates were ordered for us. At that time, the conditions were very difficult. We stayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for a few days, and during this period, we were also blessed with the day of Jumu'ah. On that day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood leaning on a bow or a staff and praised Allah. The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were very light and pure. Then he said, "O people! You can never act upon all the commands, nor do you have the strength for it. However, remain on the straight path and accept glad tidings." The previous hadith is also narrated from this second chain.
