بَقِيَّةُ حَدِيثِ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، ١٧٧٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، يَقُولُ: لَا أَقُولُ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ بَيْتًا مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I will not attribute to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) anything which he did not say. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Whoever attributes a false statement to me, let him prepare his abode in Hell.
