حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مِنْ رَهْطِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: دَعَا أَعْرَابِيًّا إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَ النَّحْرِ بِيَوْمٍ، فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: إِنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ دَعَا رَجُلًا إِلَى الطَعَامٍ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ صَوْمِ (٢) هَذَا الْيَوْمِ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Ja'far bin Mutlib, who was among the group of Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), invited a Bedouin to eat. This incident took place on the eleventh of Dhul-Hijjah. The Bedouin replied that he was fasting. Ja'far told him that once, on this same day, Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) had also invited a man to eat, and he had given the same reply, that he was fasting. So Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) had forbidden fasting on this day.
