حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَنَّ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ الْمُطَّلِبِ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، دَخَلَ عَلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، فَدَعَاهُ إِلَى الْغَدَاءِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، ثُمَّ الثَّانِيَةَ كَذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ الثَّالِثَةَ (١) ، فَقَالَ: " لَا "، إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
Once, Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to his father, Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him). His father invited his son to eat, but he replied, "I am fasting." He (the father) responded, "I have heard a hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding this matter."
