حَدِيثُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ (١)، ١٧٦٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ نَصْرٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ (٢) ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ، قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَتْفِ أَذْنَابِ الْخَيْلِ وَأَعْرَافِهَا وَنَوَاصِيهَا (٣) "، وَقَالَ: " أَذْنَابُهَا مَذَابُّهَا، وَأَعْرَافُهَا إِدْفَاؤُهَا، وَنَوَاصِيهَا مَعْقُودٌ بِهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ (٤)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade plucking the hair of horses’ tails, manes, and forelocks, and said: Their tails are a fly-whisk for them, their manes are a means of protection from the cold, and goodness has been placed in their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection.
