Original Arabic
وَمِنْ مُسْنَدِ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، حَدِيثُ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ (١) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ، ١٧٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، عَمُّكَ أَبُو طَالِبٍ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَنْفَعُكَ، قَالَ: " إِنَّهُ فِي ضَحْضَاحٍ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَلَوْلا أَنَا كَانَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from "Abdullah bin al-Harith, from al-"Abbas bin ‘Abdul-Muttalib, that he said:
O Messenger of Allah, your uncle Abu Talib used to protect you and he did such and such. He said: “He is in the shallowest part of Hell; were it not for me, he would be in the lowest depths.
