Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Iyad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the mutual acquaintance between the Prophet (ﷺ) and him had already taken place before the Prophethood. When the Prophet (ﷺ) was appointed as a Prophet, he presented a gift, probably a camel, to the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) refused to accept it and said, "We do not accept 'zabad' from the polytheists." The narrator asked about the meaning of 'zabad', and it was explained that it means a gift or present.
