حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِحُلِيٍّ كَانَ لِأُمِّهِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "، ، أَمَرَتْكَ بِذَلِكَ؟ " قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: " فَلَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "My mother has passed away and she has left behind some jewelry. Should I give it in charity?" The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Did she instruct you to do so?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then keep your mother's jewelry safe."
