حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَرَجُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْمِصْرِيِّ، قَالَ:، ، سَافَرْنَا مَعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، فَحَضَرَتْنَا الصَّلَاةُ، فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَنَا، قَالَ: قُلْنَا: أَنْتَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا تَتَقَدَّمُنَا قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَمَّ قَوْمًا، فَإِنْ أَتَمَّ فَلَهُ التَّمَامُ وَلَهُمُ التَّمَامُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يُتِمَّ، فَلَهُمُ التَّمَامُ وَعَلَيْهِ الْإِثْمُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Ali Hamdani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I set out on a journey, and with us was Uqbah bin Amir, may Allah be pleased with him. We said to him, "May Allah's mercy be upon you, you are a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), so please lead us in prayer." He refused and said, "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: Whoever leads the people in prayer, performing it on time and completely, he will receive the reward as will those who follow him. But whoever is negligent in it, its burden will be upon him alone, not upon those who follow him."
