حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، وحَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُّوجُ حَرِيرٍ، فَلَبِسَهُ، فَصَلَّى فِيهِ بِالنَّاسِ الْمَغْرِبَ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ نَزَعَهُ نَزْعًا عَنِيفًا، ثُمَّ أَلْقَاهُ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ لَبِسْتَهُ وَصَلَّيْتَ فِيهِ قَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذَا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُتَّقِينَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a silk garment was presented as a gift to the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) wore it and led us in the Maghrib prayer. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (ﷺ) took it off restlessly and said, "This clothing is not befitting for the God-fearing."
