Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سَفْيَانُ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ (١) ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ " (٢) .، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from ‘Umar bin al Khattab رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
`The child belongs to the (husband or master of the) woman.`
