Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمْرًا، قَالَ: سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ وَلَا نَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا، حَتَّى زَعَمَ رَافِعٌ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ، فَتَرَكْنَاهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to give land on sharecropping and did not consider there to be any harm in it. Later, Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) informed us that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade this, so we abandoned it.
