Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْرِ (١) جَهَنَّمَ، فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: "Fever is the effect of the heat of Hell, so cool it with water."
