. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Amr bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) sent him alone as a spy towards the Quraysh (the enemies had martyred Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him) and had hung his body on a piece of wood). I reached the place of that wood of Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him), and because I feared the spies of the Quraysh, I quickly climbed up and untied Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him). He fell to the ground and I fell some distance away. When I returned to Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him), he was nowhere to be seen. It seemed as if the earth had swallowed him. This is the reason that no trace of Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him) has been found until now.
