حَدِيثُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ (١)، ١٧٢٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ خُزَيْمَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ضَرِيرَ الْبَصَرِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يُعَافِيَنِي، قَالَ: " إِنْ شِئْتَ دَعَوْتُ لَكَ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَخَّرْتُ ذَاكَ (٢) ، فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ " (٣) . فَقَالَ: " ادْعُهُ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ، فَيُحْسِنَ وُضُوءَهُ، وَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَيَدْعُوَ بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ: اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ، وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ، يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنِّي تَوَجَّهْتُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّي فِي حَاجَتِي هَذِهِ، فَتَقْضِي لِي، اللهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ " (٤)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uthman bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that a blind man came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "Pray to Allah for me that He grants me well-being (restores my eyesight)." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If you wish, I will pray for you, and if you wish, you may delay it for the Hereafter, which is better for you." He said, "Please pray for me." So the Prophet (ﷺ), who is the Prophet of mercy, said, "I ask and turn to You through Your Prophet, O Muhammad (ﷺ)! I turn to my Lord through you and present my need, so that you may fulfill this need of mine. O Allah! Accept his intercession for me." He did as he was told, and Allah restored his eyesight.
