حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: مَا تَذْكُرُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: أَدْخَلَنِي غُرْفَةَ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَأَخَذْتُ مِنْهَا تَمْرَةً، فَأَلْقَيْتُهَا فِي فَمِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلْقِهَا، فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلا لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Rabee"ah bin Shaiban narrated that he said to al-Hasan bin "Ali (رضي الله عنه):
What do you remember from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? He said: He took me into the store room where the zakah was kept, and I took a date from it and put it in my mouth. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Take it out, for it is not permissible for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) or for any other members of his household."
