Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ), please tell me, if I go as a guest to someone's place and he neither honors me nor shows hospitality, then if that same person comes to my place as a guest, should I treat him the same way he treated me, or should I show him hospitality?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You should show him hospitality." On one occasion, the Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What kind of wealth do you have?" I replied, "Allah has granted me all kinds of wealth, such as goats and camels, etc." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then the effects of Allah's blessings and honor should be visible on you."
