Original Arabic
حَدِيثُ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ (١)، ١٧٢١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جَابِرٍ، يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي بُسْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ، صَاحَبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ، سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا تُصَلُّوا إِلَى الْقُبُورِ، وَلَا تَجْلِسُوا عَلَيْهَا " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Marthad (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Do not pray facing towards graves, nor sit on them."
