حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَمَةِ تَزْنِي وَلَمْ تُحْصَنْ، قَالَ: " اجْلِدْهَا فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدْهَا (٢) - فَقَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ - فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ " (٣)، ، وَالضَّفِيرُ: الْحَبْلُ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) about a slave-girl who commits fornication before being married. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Flog her. If she does it again, then flog her again. And if she does it a fourth time, then sell her, even if it is for a rope.
