حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْعَدَوِيَّ، أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أخْبَرَهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِمَكَّةَ يَقُولُ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْحَرِيرِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdullah bin Ali says that once I heard Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Makkah Mukarramah, while he was on the pulpit, saying that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade men from wearing gold and silk.
