English translation

Abu Hind Bajali says that once we were with Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was sitting on his throne with his eyes closed. We began to discuss Hijrah. Some among us thought that Hijrah had ended, while others thought that Hijrah had not ended. Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) became alert and said: "What are you talking about?" We informed him. He would rarely attribute anything to the Prophet (ﷺ). He said: "Once we also discussed this with the Prophet (ﷺ), and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Hijrah will not end until repentance ends, and repentance will not end until the sun rises from the west.'"
