Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَلاءِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: " إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِهِ بِأَرْضٍ وَلَسْتُمْ بِهَا، فَلا تَدْخُلُوهَا، وَإِذَا وَقَعَ وَأَنْتُمْ فِيهَا، فَلا تَخْرُجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْهَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that "Abdur-Rahman bin "Awf said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
“If you hear of it in some land and you are not there, then do not enter it (that land); if it occurs when you are there, then do not leave it fleeing from it."
