حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جُبَيْرُ بْنُ مُطْعِمٍ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَقْسِمْ لِبَنِي عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ (٣) وَلَا لِبَنِي نَوْفَلٍ مِنَ الْخُمُسِ شَيْئًا كَمَا كَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِبَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَبَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ، وَأَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ كَانَ يَقْسِمُ الْخُمُسَ نَحْوَ قَسْمِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُعْطِي قُرْبَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِيهِمْ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يُعْطِيهِمْ وَعُثْمَانُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْهُ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to allocate shares to Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, but he did not allocate any share from the khums for Banu Abd Shams and Banu Nawfal in this way. Siddiq Akbar (Abu Bakr) also distributed the khums according to the method of the Prophet (ﷺ), but he did not give to the close relatives of the Prophet (ﷺ) as he did. Then, after him, Umar and Uthman began to give to the close relatives of the Prophet (ﷺ) as well.
