Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Dhirar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself in the court of the Messenger and said: Extend your hand so that I may pledge allegiance to you upon Islam. Then I recited some verses (the translation of which is as follows): I have left behind the cup, the songs of female singers, and wine, even though I had to endure hardship for it, but I did these things with humility, and in the darkness of night, I left behind fine places and placed the burden of fighting upon the polytheists. Therefore, O Lord! Protect my trade from loss, for in exchange for it I have sold my family and wealth. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: O Dhirar! There will be no loss in your trade.
