قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ الْعَدَوِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ ذِي اللِّحْيَةِ الْكِلَابِيِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَنَعْمَلُ فِي أَمْرٍ مُسْتَأْنَفٍ، أَوْ فِي أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ فِي أَمْرٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ "، قَالَ: فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ؟ قَالَ: " اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Dhi al-Lihyah al-Kalabi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he once submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Do we initiate any action or has it already been written beforehand? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: No, it has already been written beforehand. He asked: Then what is the benefit of action? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: You should continue to act, for every person will find easy only those deeds for which he was created.
