حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُعْطِيهِ وَضُوءَهُ فَأَسْمَعُهُ بَعْدَ هَوِيٍّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَقُولُ: " سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ "، وَأَسْمَعُهُ بَعْدَ هَوِيٍّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَقُولُ: " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Rabi’ah bin Ka’b, may Allah be pleased with him, that I used to sleep in the blessed chamber of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so that I could present water for ablution. I used to hear that whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, woke up for prayer, he would keep saying “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin” for a long time, then he would keep saying “Subhanallahi Al-‘Azim wa bihamdih” for a long time.
