حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ: عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ بَايَعْتُمْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ؟ قَالَ: " بَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Yazid bin Abu Ubaid says: I asked Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), “On what did you pledge allegiance to the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the day of Hudaybiyyah?” He replied: “We pledged allegiance to death.”
