حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ (١) بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَجَاءَ عَيْنُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (٢) وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَصَبَّحُونَ (٣) ، فَدَعَوْهُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِمْ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ الرَّجُلُ رَكِبَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ذَهَبَ مُسْرِعًا لِيُنْذِرَ أَصْحَابَهُ، قَالَ سَلَمَةُ: فَأَدْرَكْتُهُ، فَأَنَخْتُ رَاحِلَتَهُ وَضَرَبْتُ عُنُقَهُ فَغَنَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلَبَهُ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) camped at a certain place. A spy from the polytheists came to gather information. At that time, the Prophet (ﷺ) was having breakfast with his companions. He invited the man (posing as a guest) to eat as well. When the man finished eating, he mounted his ride and set off to warn his companions. I pursued him, made his mount sit down, and struck his neck. The Prophet (ﷺ) gave me his equipment as a reward.
