حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ " شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الْمَنْحَرِ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَقَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَحَايَا فَلَمْ يُصِبْهُ وَلَا صَاحِبَهُ شَيْءٌ، وَحَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ فَأَعْطَاهُ، وَقَسَمَ مِنْهُ عَلَى رِجَالٍ، وَقَلَّمَ أَظْفَارَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ صَاحِبَهُ "، فَإِنَّ شَعْرَهُ عِنْدَنَا لمَخْضُوبٌ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zaid bin Abd Rabbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he and a man from the Quraysh came to the Prophet (ﷺ) in the plain of Mina, at a time when the Prophet (ﷺ) was distributing the meat of sacrifice, but neither he nor his companion received any. After that, the Prophet (ﷺ) shaved his head and placed the hair in a cloth and gave it to them, and some of the hair was also given to a few people. Then he trimmed his nails and gave them to his companion. Abdullah says that the hair of the Prophet (ﷺ) on which henna and wasmah dye had been applied is still with us today.
