حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ: أَتَتْنِي أَرْوَى بِنْتُ أُوَيْسٍ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، فِيهِمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَهْلٍ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ قَدِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ أَرْضِي إِلَى أَرْضِهِ مَا لَيْسَ لَهُ، وَقَدِ أحْبَبْتُ أَنْ تَأْتُوهُ فَتُكَلِّمُوهُ، قَالَ: فَرَكِبْنَا إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ بِأَرْضِهِ بِالْعَقِيقِ، فَلَمَّا رَآنَا قَالَ: قَدْ عَرَفْتُ الَّذِي جَاءَ بِكُمْ، وَسَأُحَدِّثُكُمْ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " مَنِ أخَذَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ مَا لَيْسَ لَهُ، طُوِّقَهُ إِلَى السَّابِعَةِ مِنَ الأَرْضِين يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ، فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Talhah bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Awf said:
Arwa bint Uwais came to me with some people of Quraish among whom was ‘AbdurRahman bin "Amr bin Sahl, and she said: Sa"eed bin Zaid has added to his land some of my land that is not his. I want you to go to him and speak to him. So we rode to him when he was in his land in al-Aqeeq. When he saw us, he said: I know why you have come and I will tell you what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I heard him say: “Whoever takes any land that is not his, his neck will be encircled with it down through seven earths on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr."
