حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبِرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَبَحَ لَنَا شَاةً، وَقَالَ: " لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ـ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ـ أَنَا إِنَّمَا ذَبَحْنَاهَا لَكَ وَلَكِنْ لَنَا غَنَمٌ فَإِذَا بَلَغَتْ مِائَةً ذَبَحْنَا شَاةً " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Laqit bin Sabrah that once I presented myself before the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he slaughtered a goat for us and said: Do not think that we have slaughtered it only because of you; rather, the fact is that we have a herd of goats, and when their number reaches one hundred, we slaughter one from them.
