حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ، ، عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا انْتَهَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ـ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّةً: إِنَّهُ (١) انْتَهَى إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ـ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ: " " {أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ حَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ} [التكاثر: ٢] " "، قَالَ: " " يَقُولُ ابْنُ آدَمَ: مَالِي مَالِي، وَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالِكَ إِلَّا مَا تَصَدَّقْتَ فَأَمْضَيْتَ، أَوْ لَبِسْتَ فَأَبْلَيْتَ، أَوْ أَكَلْتَ فَأَفْنَيْتَ " " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was reciting Surah At-Takathur. The son of Adam says, "My wealth, my wealth," while your wealth is only that which you have given in charity and sent ahead, or worn and worn out, or eaten and finished.
