حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اجْعَلْنِي إِمَامَ قَوْمِي، فَقَالَ: " أَنْتَ إِمَامُهُمْ وَاقْتَدِ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ، وَاتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لَا يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uthman that I once submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! Appoint me as the imam of my people. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: You are the imam of your people. Lead the prayer considering the weakest among them, and appoint a muezzin who does not take any wage for his call to prayer.
