حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبِي: " لَقَدْ عَمَّرْنَا مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَمَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَلْ تَدْرِي (٧) مَا الْأَسْوَدَانِ؟ قُلْتُ: لَا قَالَ: التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ (٨)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Qurrah that we also spent a time with the Prophet (peace be upon him) when we had nothing to eat except the two black things. Then he said: Do you know what is meant by the two black things? I said: No. He said: Dates and water.
