حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ عُدُسٍ (١) ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيْنَ كَانَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ خَلْقَهُ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ فِي عَمَاءٍ مَا تَحْتَهُ هَوَاءٌ، وَمَا فَوْقَهُ هَوَاءٌ، ثُمَّ خَلَقَ عَرْشَهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Razin that I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Where was our Lord before He created the creation? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He was in an unknown place, and above and below Him there was only emptiness. Then He created His Throne upon the water.
