حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ،، ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ (١) عَمْرَو بْنَ أَوْسٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْسٍ، أَنَّهُ " رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَاسْتَوْكَفَ ثَلَاثًا " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَيُّ شَيْءٍ اسْتَوْكَفَ ثَلَاثًا؟ قَالَ: غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aws that he saw the Prophet (ﷺ) performing ablution, and the Prophet (ﷺ) took water in his palm three times. I asked for what purpose? He replied: For washing the hands.
