حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: أَخبَرنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ، قَالَ: أَتَانَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا، فَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ فَخُذُوا (١) وَدَعُوا، دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ (٢) فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجُدُّوا أَوْ تَدَعُوا (٣) فَالرُّبُعَ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Mas'ud says that once Sahl bin Abi Hathmah came to our mosque and narrated this hadith: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you harvest fruit, take some and leave some; leave about one third. If you cannot do that, then leave one fourth.
