Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَنَاحٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَلَا إِنَّ، ، فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ، وحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ، وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ، أَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ، وَالْحَقِّ، اللهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Wathilah that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: O Allah, so-and-so son of so-and-so is in Your protection and in the rope of Your neighborhood, so protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of Hellfire. You are the One who fulfills promises. O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him. You are the Forgiving and the Merciful.
