حَدِيثُ الْأَقْرَعِ بْنِ حَابِسٍ (١)، ١٥٩٩١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ الْأَقْرَعِ بْنِ حَابِسٍ، أَنَّهُ نَادَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحُجُرَاتِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَا إِنَّ حَمْدِي زَيْنٌ، وَإِنَّ ذَمِّي شَيْنٌ (٢) ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كَمَا حَدَّثَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: " ذَاكَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aqra’ bin Habis that once he called out to the Prophet (ﷺ) from outside the chambers. The Prophet (ﷺ) did not reply to him. He again called out, “O Messenger of Allah!” and said, “My praise is an adornment and my criticism is a cause of disgrace and shame.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “This is only for Allah.”
