English translation

Umar bin Shas, who was among the Companions of Hudaybiyyah, says that I set out from Yemen with Ali. During the journey, I suffered some injustice from him, because of which a burden against him developed in my heart. That is why, upon reaching Madinah, I expressed this complaint before the people in the mosque. Eventually, this matter reached the Prophet (ﷺ). The next day, when I entered the mosque, I saw that the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting with some of his companions. When he saw me, he looked at me sharply, and when I sat down, he said: "Amr, by Allah, you have hurt me." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! I seek refuge with Allah from hurting you." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Why not? Whoever has hurt Ali has hurt me."
