English translation
It is narrated from Lajlaj that once we were in the market when a woman passed by carrying her child. Seeing the woman with the child, people became agitated, and I too became angry. I went to the Prophet (ﷺ), and he was asking her, "Who is the father of this child?" She remained silent. When he asked a second time, she again remained silent. Meanwhile, a young man came and stood beside the woman and said, "This is a young Muslim woman; she will not be able to answer you. I am the father of this child." Upon this, the Prophet (ﷺ) turned to the companions around him, as if he was asking them about this man. They said, "We only know good about him." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Are you married?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered him to be stoned. We took him with us, dug a pit, and put him in it. Then we pelted him with stones until he became lifeless. Then we returned to our place. Meanwhile, an elder came asking about this young man. We stood up, took his hand, and brought him to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! This person is asking about that wicked one." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Be quiet. That person is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk." Hearing this, we returned and assisted in his ritual washing and shrouding, and prepared his grave. The narrator says, "I do not remember whether he mentioned the funeral prayer or not."
